Gary is a member of American Triple I Partners’ Investment Committee and the National Head of Investment Banking and an equity owner of Siebert Williams Shank & Co. where he is responsible for managing all bankers and leading the firm’s execution strategy for business development. Gary’s 30-year professional career includes positions in investment banking, private equity, law, and government. Prior to joining SWS, he was an Executive Director in the Public Finance – Investment Banking Group of JPMorgan Securities LLC. He served in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Banc One Capital Markets Inc. and practiced law in the corporate finance department of Gardner, Carton, and Douglas (now Drinker, Biddle, and Reath).  Gary worked for the U.S. Department of Treasury as a White House Fellow and in the Mayor’s Office of Budget and Management for the City of Chicago. He is the Chairman of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, the self-regulatory organization that safeguards the $4 trillion municipal securities industry.

Gary is a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Chicago Harris Public Policy School’s Center for Municipal Finance, a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Council, and a Trustee and past Treasurer of the Head-Royce School in Oakland.

Gary received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Howard University and Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame.  He holds Series 7, 50, 53, 79, and 63 licenses.
